Nature was derived from the Latin word Natura, which actually means birth. Nature is believed to be the gift and blessing of God and one has the responsibility to preserve it in all its beauty and not destroy it for one’s benefits. But as the time has passed and the greed of mankind has grown enormously which led to the shrinking of forest cover and we face the adverse effect of it in our day to day life. But a trend has started picking up which is called “miniature gardening” which seems like a new thing but it dates back to 12th century when Japanese elite first began pruning trees to create the art of Bonsai. It is a fun and creative way to pursue gardening as a hobby and it is therapeutic too. So a company called “Miniature Haven” which is based in Shimla have taken the initiative to spread this art through workshops countrywide and now they are organizing a workshop in Shimla.
Who is behind Miniature Haven?
Shilpa Chauhan, who hails from Shimla is the one who founded Miniature Haven. When she came back to India after working for several years in England, she introduced miniature gardening as a lifestyle hobby, creatively stimulating and extremely therapeutic. So far this
concept has been introduced in cities like Hyderabad, Delhi, Chandigarh and Shimla and has gained awareness and popularity through the workshops which are delightful and full of enthusiasm.
