Manushi Chhillar became the sixth Indian to be crowned as Miss World, held at Sanya, China.
She is a 20 years old medical student from Haryana, born to doctor parents who dreams of being a cardiac surgeon but took a one-year break from studies to focus on representing India at the Miss World’s Paegent. She is the sixth Indian to be crowned Miss World.
She will bring the crown back to India after 17 years; the last Indian to bag the title was Priyanka Chopra and that too long ago in 2000.

Stephanie Hill(Miss England), was the first runner up and Alma Andrea Meza Carmona( Miss Mexico) was second runner up in the 67th Miss World contest.

Here are some interesting facts about her:
1. Manushi is a trained Kuchipudi dancer, and has trained under legendary dancers Raja and Radha Reddy and Kaushalya Reddy.
2. Besides becoming the Miss World, she was also crowned as Miss Photogenic earlier in the competition.
3. She also won a competition called Beauty with a Purpose and her project was Project Shakti. Under this project, she spread awareness about menstrual hygiene & visited about 20 villages for the project and treated over 5,000 women.
4. She is currently pursuing a medical degree at the Bhagat Phool Singh Government Medical College for Women in Sonipat.
5. She even attended National School of Drama and so her making an entry into Bollywood must not come as a surprise.
